This chatoyant Tigereye is from South Africa.
Tiger Eye is a quartz usually with rich yellow and brown stripes, but can be red or blue. It contains oriented fibers of crocidolite that have been replaced by silica.
With its strong chatoyance, the gemstone gets its name from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger.
