Product Description
Tiger-eye Chatoyant Yellow Tiger's Eye Polished Rock Base Stand
A high-grade lovely yellow flashy polished rock Tiger's Eye or Tiger Eye from Africa.
This piece must have been cut to be a base or stand-due to it's shape.
This "rectangle" piece is flat on the bottom and polished on the top and sides and it is 3.4 inches by 2.4 inches and 1 inch thick. It is 2.9 inches by 1.9 inches on the top part.
Tiger's Eye is a quartz usually with rich yellow and brown stripes, but can be red or blue.
It contains oriented fibers of crocidolite that have been replaced by silica. The fibers are twisted or crumpled instead of straight, reminiscent of sand and sunlight.
Tiger-eye is also vitreous (hard, unbendable and glass-like). With its strong chatoyance, the gemstone gets its name from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger.
