This natural rough rock stone slab of Purple Sagenite is 5.25 inches by 4.25 inches and 6.5 mm thick.
It weighs .48 lbs. and is shown wet in the first 2 pictures.
Purple Sagenite is a new semiprecious stone material from China that is a lovely opaque purple opalized fluorite with a sagenite pattern.
Sagenites are blades or needle inclusions and often form in sprays.
Fluorite is a calcium fluoride crystal. It is named after its composition containing fluorine (Latin, fluere = "to flow").
"Opalized" is a pseudomorph that is similar to "fossilized" or "petrified" but the original material is replaced with common opal rather than silica.
These pretty and unique Purple Sagenite does not take a high gloss polish.
