This is a natural crystal Cobaltocalcite mineral specimen also called Pink Druse (or Pink Drusy).
This one does sit at a nice slant for display.
It is 3 inches long by 1.76 inches deep and 2 inches thick.
Lovely light pink to dark magenta Cobaltocalcite (AKA Cobaltian Calcite or Cobaltoan Calcite) from the Kakanda Mine, in the Katanga Copper Crescent, Shaba Province, Zaire, Africa.
This is a variety of Calcite containing Cobalt. The cobalt colors the calcite pink. In pure sphaerocobaltite (most examples contain a small but significant percentage of calcium), the coloring effect is magnified.
