African Green Malachite Stone Egg Shaped Polished Rock
This small banded Malachite semiprecious stone egg carving is about 1.7 inches or 42 mm in height.
Lovely green Malachite material from the Katanga Mine area in the Congo, Africa.
Malachite is a copper carbonate. It has a hardness between 3.5 and 4. It crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, and most often forms botryoidal, fibrous, or stalagmitic masses.
This material is found in the oxidation zone of major copper deposits.
This stone's name is from the Greek, malache, - "mallow" in reference to its green leaf color.
Metaphysical Properties of Malachite: Malachite is a very protective stone, being especially helpful for general protection, protection from evil, protection during pregnancy and childbirth, and protection for children.
