Lion Figurine Carving Tiger's Eye Stone Statue
This gorgeous hand carved gemstone lion figurine is 7 inches long and 1.8 inches wide and 3.9 inches tall.
This lion figurine is not polished, it has a matte finish and lots of detail.
This is lovely chatoyant Tiger's Eye or Tiger-eye found in Africa.
Tiger's Eye is a quartz usually with rich yellow and brown stripes, but can be red or blue.
It contains oriented fibers of crocidolite that have been replaced by silica. The fibers are twisted or crumpled instead of straight, reminiscent of sand and sunlight.
Tiger-eye is also vitreous (hard, unbendable and glass-like).
With its strong chatoyance, the gemstone gets its name from its resemblance to the eye of a tiger.
The LION inspires strength, courage, pride, nobility, and fairness. Because of the lion's noble character, it represents the great power of self-control. The Egyptians saw the lion as a symbol of power and wealth. In Singapore, a lion and tiger are depicted on the coat of arms of “the city of lions.” The lion is a traditional symbol of Spain and of Great Britain.
