Laguna Agate Polished Stone Slab Collector Rock
This lovely red banded Laguna Agate geode is slabbed and polished on one side.
This polished collector agate is 4.22 inches by 3.22 inches and just 6 mm thick.
It could be re-cut into cabochons.
Laguna Agate is well known by agate collectors for its vibrant colors of reds!
The Laguna Agate area is in the Estacion Ojo Laguna area in the state of Chihuahua, about 150 miles south of the U.S.-Mexican border.
It is found in 13 different mine sites high in the mountains on the north to south mountain range covering a distance of over 4 miles. Many of these mine sites are not accessible by road.
The location was discovered in the late 1940's or early 1950's. The Conejeros Mine was mined in 1995 with heavy equipment and large quantities of excellent quality was produced for about 8 years. About 6 of the other locations have also produced great quality.
Among agate collectors Laguna Agates are often considered to be the most colorful and beautiful agates in the world.
Laguna Agate sometimes contains sagenites, moss inclusions and/or tube patterns.
Metaphysical Properties of Laguna Agate: In general Agate cabochons are said to be stabilizing and strengthening. They improve memory and increase energy.
