This beautiful hand carved white stone Howlite egg carving is 2 inches or 50 mm tall.
Howlite, which is named for its discoverer Henry How (a Nova Scotia geologist), is one of those minerals that is more famous for imitating another mineral. Often the other mineral is turquoise because, though Howlite is always white or gray, it can accept dyes fairly easily and is often dyed sky blue.
