Purple Fluorite Crystal Egg Shaped Mineral Rock
This lovely very dark purple banded semiprecious stone Fluorite egg carving is 2 inches or 50 mm in height.
2 of the pictures are taken on top of my phone flashlight and it has some white naturally healed fracture lines.
As is common with this material it has natural internal inclusions.
This beautiful natural Fluorite is from China.
Fluorite is a calcium fluoride crystal with a hardness of 4. It can be found in a wide range of colors, sometimes in multiple colors.
It is named after its composition containing fluorine (Latin, fluere = "to flow").
During the 19th century, fluorite was mined in England for its ornamental value.
