This smaller but lovely Chrysocolla Malachite egg is just 47 mm or 1.8 inches in height and 1.3 inch thick.
Chrysocolla, a copper silicate, blends well with Malachite, a copper carbonate. This colorful gemstone cabochon material is found in the oxidation zone of major copper deposits.
This material was found in the Bagdad Copper Mine in Arizona.
Chrysocolla is known as a healing stone among Native American Indian cultures where it was used for strengthening the body's resistance and bringing about calm feelings where there is upset.
Chrysocolla is named from the Greek chrysos - "gold" and kolla - "glue" in allusion to the name of the material used to solder gold.
